GRAINNEBINNS: Goodbye February...

Goodbye February...

23:50

Annnnnnd.. It's March already. I feel like in every post I begin with how much I can't keep up with time and the fast rate it seems to be going at, but this time I genuinely really can't believe it. Christmas feels like last week! With my exams and London taking up most of January and then spending the majority of February being stressed/ getting organised for the Fashion show in college, I've been kept pretty busy. So this post I guess is just a little insight to my February, what I got up to and bits and bobs I picked up!

DCU FASHION SHOW

Last year I was a stylist for the show so decided to take on the challenge of being one of two head stylists this year. To say it took over my life from about December time is an understatement but I am so glad I decided to take on the job. As stressful as it was up until the DAY AFTER the show it was totally worth the stress as seeing the whole thing come together was so rewarding!

Outfit
Top - H&M
Dress - Topshop

Every day before the show I was running all over Dublin pulling and styling looks which was the most fun part.

outfit
Skirt - Fresh Temple Bar €30
Top - Fresh Temple Bar €10
Coat - H&M

The day before the show involved me running around literally like a lunatic, this was the morning time and the first collection. I did not look anything like this by about 4pm after being to town, Liffey Valley, Dundrum & back to the Helix to sit down and get everything onto rails and organised into walk by walk and model by model!

Outfit
Top - Fresh Temple Bar €25
Skirt - Fresh Temple Bar €10
Shoes - Asos €30

Wednesday we did fittings with everyone and made sure everything was all perfectly organised. I got my hair and makeup done then thanks to Dylan Bradshaw hair and Inglot make up. I have never had my makeup done before so I was literally a little bit in awe of the Job that my MUA did and probably seemed like a total narcissist because I couldn't actually stop looking in the mirror, LOL.

The left here is all nine crows and the right is all Penneys
Despite all the stress, I am totally sad that it is all over for another year!

Some cute bits I picked up

1.

I've mentioned this skirt already in this post but it is so cute, you cannot go wrong with a tennis skirt. They can be worn in winter, summer, spring and autumn! This one is from Fresh Temple Bar, they have a massive selection of them in there, loads of different colours and sizes, even a PINK HOLOGRAPHIC ONE, I cried a lil bit.  My top here is H&M and was only €9,99!

2.

How cute is this top? It was literally €5, I could not leave without it. It is also from Fresh Temple Bar, I bought most of my clothes there recently as you can probably tell!

3.

This faaaab jumper is from Charlottes Love, which we used as a full walk in the show and she was then kind enough to give me this! If you don't already know Charlotte's Love you need to...

Here is a few examples of some of the pieces we used in the show and they looked even more amazing on the stage!!!

The pieces are all so fab and it is always great to support independent and Irish brands!

4.

Nothing major here, but I actually couldn't resist buying this phone case as it matches nearly everything in my wardrobe right now! It was only €10 also from Claire's Accessories and does a super job protecting my phone that I drop numerous times daily!

My Runway Faves

The End of February also means the end of Fashion month, so to close off on February here is some of my favourite bits from the runway...

1. Babbym - LFW

2. Marni - MFW

3. Prada - MFW

4. Fenty X Puma - PFW

5. Valentino - PFW

SO, that's another month done and dusted, here's to March! Not as busy as January or February so hopefully my life will slow down a tiny bit! There is no such thing as a long day/week anymore!

This Wednesday the 8th of March, I'll be taking part in the Strike 4 Repeal!

If you can, you should too. It's 2017 people, women deserve some bodily autonomy!
